Prada Miami Design District

My sister and I went shopping here yesterday and got followed around the store. It was absolutely profiling because we are 2 Black women. The salesperson even followed us up the stairs step by step and even bumped into me because he was following so close. It was ridiculous! We were actually there to shop and saw some cute sandals that we would have thought about purchasing if the salesperson hadn't been so rude as to breathe down our necks everywhere we went in the store. Black people, avoid this place at all costs!

My sister and I went in to look at some purses and we’re serious about buying. The sales person followed us the whole time and without letting us breathe. There were several people shopping on their own without being followed, but as minorities, we weren’t given the same privilege. It was very disappointing as the sales person was a minority himself. It is disappointing to have these salesperson act like they own the brand and are too high class when they are probably making minimum wage.

I went on Monday (8/30) and there were barely any customers in the store, which was wonderful as it made it feel like a private shopping experience and there were no queues. Initially I was accompanying my friend who wanted to check out the Prada loafers, however then the Black Prada Re-Edition 2005 bag in the Saffiano leather caught my eye. I was delighted that they had it in stock! The store has a lot of great, diverse pieces and hot items that are difficult to find online and in-person at other locations. The whole time we were assisted by ANDREA who is AMAZING! I'd literally fly back to Miami for my next Prada purchase to shop with her again. She is extremely knowledgeable (not just about Prada but other comparable brands), so warm and personable, attentive, and not even remotely pushy. She genuinely wants you to find pieces that suit you best and will be worth your money. I spent a good amount of time assembling and disassembling the bag to test the variety of ways to wear the piece and she was a good sport answering ALL of my questions. :) Also all the other staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!
